Top Dog Country Club Clients:

Welcome to summer in Minnesota . . . the season of road construction. Some of you may already know that highway 7 is scheduled for a face lift this year. According to the MNDot, the resurfacing, new roundabouts and turn lanes will provide better traffic flow, smoother roads and, ultimately, SAFER travel.

We know this will create some challenges but we are including detour directions and a sign to post in your vehicle, in an effort to minimize any inconvenience en route to your favorite boarding facility !!!

We have been assured that the highway department and contractors will work with us to help facilitate a safe and smooth trip to Top Dog. The project is scheduled to commence April 14 and will end November. However, the detour is much easier after phase 1 is finished in June. If you are traveling Hwy 7, and if you have the TOP DOG Country Club sign on your dashboard, they will recognize that you are "local traffic" and allow you to by-pass the major detour route down to Hwy 212, and use the detour we have outlined in the attached map. Some additional routes are outlined for those of you in the West and Northwest Metro and the South and Southwest Metro; so you can avoid Hwy 7, between St. Boni and State Hwy 25, entirely for this first phase.

We faced the same situation in 2004 when they closed a portion of Hwy. 7 for repairs. With your undaunted positive attitude and cooperation, we made it through with flying colors.

Remember, too, we have pickup and delivery service with set locations in Minnetonka and Eden Prairie, or we can transport to your home. The swimming pool is open and the dogs are loving it!

DIRECTIONS FOR DETOURS: During Highway 7 Construction
Phase 1: FROM APRIL 14 - JUNE 28 (Only applies to those traveling Hwy 7)

From Minneapolis and/or Western Suburbs (noted on map by solid, blue line):

- Highway 7 West to County Road 92 (St. Boni) North (Right). Go 3.2 miles.
- To Hennepin Cty Road 15 West (Left). This is also Carver Cty 24. Go 4.7 miles.
- To Carver Cty Rd 10 North (Right). Go 0.9 miles.
- To State Hwy 25 South (Left). Go 4.4 miles.
- To Hwy. 7 West (Right). You are just a few miles from Top Dog!

From Northwest Suburbs (This is the normal route we give - no detour necessary)
(noted on map by dotted, red line)

- Highway 12 West (Travel 8.6 miles from 494/Hwy 12 intersection).
- Take Left on Cty Rd 6 (Just on West side of Long Lake at the traffic light take left, traveling
West/South on Cty 6 also labeled 6th Avenue North).
- Continue on Cty 6 (12.1 miles) into Watertown (which merges with Cty 10 at a stop sign - continue straight through 4-way stop) and take left onto State Hwy 25 South.
- Travel Hwy 25 South 4.3 miles.
- To Hwy7 West (Take a right and continue on Hwy 7 just a few miles to Vega Avenue - mile marker 163.

From Southwest Suburbs (noted on map by green, X's):

Most simple route: Hwy 5 West to State Hwy 25 North (West of Waconia)
To Hwy 7 West (take a left on Hwy to to Vega Avenue)
Fastest route: Hwy 5 West to Carver Cty 10 North (right at lights in Waconia)
To Cty Rd 30 (left) into Mayer, then North Hwy 25 to Hwy 7 West

Please note that there may be "road closed" signs on some of these routes, but you have been cleared to get to Top Dog, as "local traffic", as long as you follow the above routes. Please call us along the way if you have any difficulty.
