Training Options during a Top Dog Vacation

Board and Train

The board and train program is 2-3 weeks long.  All dogs attending will learn the same standard commands with variation on a case by case basis.  Standard commands are Sit, Down, Stay, Place, Recall & Heel/Loose Leash walking.  Board and Train comes with a required 45 minute lesson for the owner.

 

Stay, Play, Train

The stay, play, train program offers smaller and more individualized packages of training sessions.  This is a great option for a dog that needs a refresher on previously learned commands or to add some extra individualized time to your dog’s vacation.  We can also add in trick training.

 

Training with owner present:

Private Training

Private training is done with the dog and owner present.  Sessions can be completed at your home or out in the public to allow for more distractions.  This option is customizable and we can work on areas of need for your dog and answer any questions you may have.

Advanced Training & Specialized Training

Off Leash Training - Individualized training for off leash manners/walking.  Ask our trainer about this option & we can help to come up with a custom plan for you!

Grooming & Nail Care desensitization - For the dogs that are stressed by nail trims, brushing, or forced air dryers, and need help relaxing and making positive associations.

Trick Training - Work on any trick or task you are interested in. These may include shake, spin, retrieve, back-up, paw/nose target, open/close doors and anything else you can think of.

Behavior Modification - A customizable plan for dogs that have behavioral problems. This may include resource guarding, dog aggression, fearfulness, separation anxiety, or general anxiety. We are NOT set up to handle human aggressive dogs at this time.  With the exception being resource guarding.

Proper Playtime Behavior - For dogs that need extra one on one attention from a trainer to work on proper interactions with other dogs.  These dogs need more than the usuall staff guidance during playtime and will work one on one with the trainer to have a positive playtime experience and work to improve their social skills.  This could also be used to help introduce new pack members to your home.

Agility/Sports Foundations - This package is created to help prepare your dog for agility, rally, tricks or flyball. We will work on sending the dog away from you, directionals, obstacle commitment, impulse control, targeting, and body awareness. There will be some introduction to obstacles including jumps and tunnels.

Nosework - Introduce your dog to scent detection.  A great activity to help keep their mind engaged!

Confidence Building - Individualized training to help insecure/nervous dogs gain self confidence
