Top Dog Training Academy

Sara Spevacek is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, AKC Community Canine, Canine Good Citizen and Star Puppy Certified Evaluator.  She is also a certified PetTech Pet CPR and First Aid Instructor.

Sara has a bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education and finds that her experience in the teaching field has helped her immensely to effectively teach both dogs and their human owners.  She believes that every dog benefits from having a special job such as learning how to herd Top Dog’s resident sheep, becoming a therapy dog, or just being a great family pet.

Her well-rounded training methods focus on positive reinforcement but include a wide variety of techniques to help all personalities of dogs and their owners to reach their training goals.

Training Options during a Top Dog Vacation

Board and Train

The board and train program is 3 weeks long.  All dogs attending will learn the same standard commands with variation on a case by case basis.  Every week comes with a required 45 minute lesson for the owner.

Stay, Play, Train

The stay, play, train program offers smaller and more individualized packages of training sessions.  This is a great option for a dog that needs a refresher on previously leaned commands or to add some extra individualized time to your dog’s vacation.

Training with owner present:

Private Training

Private training is done with the dog and owner present.  Sessions can be completed at your home or out in the public to allow for more distractions.

Hounds Around Town

Hounds Around Town events will be held periodically at different public, dog friendly locations.  Basic obedience and socialization will be the focus of these fun events!

Group Classes

Group classes will be kept to 5-6 dogs to allow for individual support and a less overwhelming environment.  Classes will take place in public places to allow for more distractions.

Classes starting Spring 2017

1 hour long human only seminars will be held periodically on topics such as Pet CPR and First Aid, greeting strangers at home and leash reactivity.
